The Underground Water System (UGS) of the river Larissos of the Municipality of Western Achaia in the focus of the WaterIQ Project<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.,at the Conference and Cultural Centre of the University of Patras, a workshop was held with the presentation of the first results of the WaterIQ project \u201cActions for the improvement of the qualitative and quantitative situation and the adaptation to the climate change of the coastal groundwater system \u201cLarissos\u201d of the catchment area \u201cPeiros-Vergas-Pinios (EL02)\u201d, Northern Peloponnese Water Department\u201d. The purpose of the Workshop was to inform the Municipal, Regional, Decentralized, scientific and professional bodies and the public about the actions of the WaterIQ project, focusing in the groundwater system of the Larissos river which is in a poor quantitative and qualitative condition due to over-pumping and salinity.<\/p>\n
